Ecommerce merchants can truly appreciate this feature
What if the distributor is sending you incomplete or inaccurate shipping weight and dimensions?
Let's say the product is listed as 1lb in weight and no dimensions are available in the data feed. Your ecommerce system will calculate the shipping cost based on 1lb. But when you get to ship, it turns out the item is wide and cannot fit in a small box. When you add the weight of the wide box and packing material, the total shipping weight is 4.5 lbs. Most likely any profit that you may have made from this sale will vanish and you will lose money on this sale.
MFI let's you correct such mistakes so now that you know this specific product has a much higher shipping weight and dimensions, you can update that in MFI.
If the distributor does not provide weight and dimensions, you can define some safe defaults.
Because the lower your cost, the more competitive your prices. Translates to greater sales and greater profits.
Markup prices at cost + % or cost + $ or both. You can markup prices differently for different distributors. You have total control over your selling price.
All products don't ship equally. You can apply shipping markups in addition to price markups to come up with a selling price that takes all costs into account.
If you don't want to sell a product or a product category, you can simply block it and it won't get downloaded to your database.
